"He did so much for kids as a coach in youth sports," said good friend Bobby Valera of Leominster. "He coached football, baseball and basketball. He loved sports, but for him it was always about kids playing. He ran camps and always included kids who couldn't afford it. Michael had a heart of gold and he would do anything for anyone. You just don't make them any better than Mike Austin. We lost a legend in our community."

Forever in our Hearts

Remembering  Coach Michael Austin

It is profound sadness that we announce the passing of Coach Mike Austin. Mike was not only a founding member of the Leominster Blue Devils Football Club, but also served as Leominster’s Freshmen Head Coach this past season. Mike also was involved in the Pop Warner program here in Leominster for many years. Mike was also a Baseball umpire for many years, as well as a local DJ. He was involved in coaching Little League and Basketball as well over the years, showing his caring style to our city’s youth. Mike’s smile and positive outlook on life will be sorely missed by the Leominster community. We send our thoughts and prayers out to the Austin family at this time.
